Started writing raps in the 8th grade with a couple of homIEs. We were all inspired by underground artists and upcoming artists in 2012 and 2013. From the Inland Empire with love. Walking home everyday from school freestyling to MF Doom beats and Alchemist beats, trying to perfect our craft and sharpen our swords. I was born in Pomona, California. Raised in Fontana, California. Ask me how I got my artist name? Because it's been “A-Journey” from day one you can say I was born with it. Although I started off rap battling to be a part of a collective that was created within my circle of friends, I consider myself an artist in unique form. Lyrically, spiritually, and willingfully, the purpose was always for the love of hip hop and being inspired to innovate and create music. In high school I met some other cool cats who are featured on my song “Paper". Common Knowledge also known as “CK” gave us our first studio experience with the set up he had at his parents house. Recording in a garage hot as it could ever be, like 90 something degrees! But it helped develop me into the artist I am today. Learning how to punch in, record, make beats, what metro knome is, stay on beat, and actually write a song. We used to skate from house to house if we couldn't record at one spot we would find a way to do so at someone else's house. Imagine driving down the street and seeing some kids skating with a mic stand, pop filter, and big backpack full of equipment. That was us doing what we needed to do to make music. I had worked construction with my pops to pay for my own studio equipment during the summer of 2016 and from there on I been recording myself ever since. All you need is one mic like Nas said. One laptop or computer, and an audio box. Thanks to my homIE CK for helping me set everything up. Thank you to all my fans for the support on the come up still. This is my life, my happiness, but nothing would be possible without our creator. Praise God. Blessings. - A-Journey
